Africa

Africa is a major spice continent ever since the Egyptian pharaohs. In the Middle Lions, African spices such as grains of paradise and selimpeper were frequently used for seasoning at the European courts. One of the important spice countries in Africa is Madagascar, where vanilla, real cinnamon and voatsiperifery are grown. An emerging country is Cameroon, where the prestigious Penja pepper has been grown for several decades.

We offer the best of the continent, including an assortment of barely known spices from the African rainforest, such as the calabash nutmeg (ehuru) and the alligator pepper (mbongô).
